WHO: Natasha Romanoff & Tony Stark
WHAT: Bonding over being dead
WHERE: A bar
WHEN: Saturday night
STATUS: Threading
WARNINGS: Language, talk of death
It wasn't that Tony wasn't dealing with his death; he just hadn't lived it. It was hard to mourn something that seemed more like a story than reality. However, it was real when he looked at his teenage daughter. It was real when he watched Peter cry over him. It was real when Pepper vowed to protect their new dimension. And for those people? He vowed to keep going. He missed Happy and Rhodey, but he hoped they'd come one day. In the meantime? He needed to do all he could to keep this dimension going.
He agreed to meet Nat for drinks because she was not only a good friend, but because she was perhaps the only one who could truly understand what Tony was going through. Still, he meant what he told her. He had kids to worry about so he couldn't just drink himself into a stupor (even if he sort of wanted to when he thought too hard on everything).
"Hey, look who is here." Tony slid next to Natasha and flashed her a grin. "Got my tab going already?"

"Same," She admittedly slowly into her beer as she took a calm sip. "Keep thinking about how to make this... home. How to reassemble everyone. This world... doesn't have Thanos, and if we could just pull everyone back together again. Thats why we did this, Tony, to bring everyone... back." Of course, it was a different set of people missing now, maybe even more people missing, but if she could bring the others back... maybe they could all have the peace that they deserved.
Subconsciously, she rubbed the back of her head, the knot that had been there for a few days after she had collided with the concrete here. A reminder of the way she would die back home. She couldn't let herself dwell on that. She was here now. "But you know more about the technicalities of all that."
