Who: Pepper & Gamora
What: well even Pepper needs to get in trouble
Where: not far from the Tower
When: early afternoon
Warnings: violence for sure
Status: in progress
Pepper had carefully ventured out, in her suit, to pick up a few things for the Office, she didn't want poor delivery drivers to be out when things were going sideways. There was so much to try to juggle now that things kept coming out of that portal. She wanted to try to keep everything else running smooth.
She had planned her route to the smallest detail, carefully kept tabs on how the streets looked, and she picked a time to go when the blocks near the Tower were clear. Then she headed out.
She made it almost all the way back before she ran into a small group of Arachnids and she pulled back. "FRIDAY, is there anyone nearby?"
"I have paged Gamora, who is closet to you. I have sent your coordinates to her. Stand by. Would you like me to call Tony?"" Pepper sighed as she ducked behind a wall, Tony was going to have a fit. "No, don't do that."

While Gamora worked to rid them off the arachnids, Pepper kept tabs on the woman's back, not wanting to be in the way or let her get blindsided.
Pepper smiled a bit, she liked the woman, and admired how hard she fought. She was jarred back to reality as one tried to run her over. Pepper took off upwards, it was a little wobbly, but she got out of the way.
The bugs dodged easily. "I've never tried anything like that, but I know when I first used an aero-rig, it took a little practice to feel steady. Especially when you're used to having your feet on the ground." The two bugs looked like they were racing to get to her and they were head to head. She took a breath, deciding to let them come. At the last second, she swung Godslayer in a complicated figure eight pattern that had been one of her childhood training exercises, decapitating both in rapid succession before letting her sword close with a metallic snikt.
"You have good instincts for this, all the rest is just practice."
She said something to the suit and her helmet pulled back so she could converse easier. "Oh, thank you." Truly she was flattered that Gamora thought she had good instincts.
"I am firmly used to having my feet on the ground, and Tony doesn't build anything in halves, so this is a little overwhelming."
Gamora was a little surprised that Stark hadn't given his wife a full training on the suit. In her experience, there were multiple benefits of a couple training, and fighting, together, but she didn't know Pepper quite well enough yet to suggest them. "Let's get back to the tower," she said instead, scanning the street for anyone else who looked out of place. "I, for one, am going to need a shower."
Tony had showed her. But, showing her and really using it were two vastly different things. "You are likely right." she said with a rueful shake of her head, she collected the bags from where they'd been dropped in her attempts to help. "That would be great, Gamora. I don't want to be a hindrance to anyone." she didn't either, she wanted to be helpful and make sure that she could protect those she loved as much as they tried to protect her.
Pepper nodded as she let out a sigh of relief finally. "It is always impressive watching everyone who can fight, do so." she said as they started back, "Thank you, for coming to help me today. I appreciate it"
